i get a lot of pitches to promote stuff on my blog. i've passed on most of it, 'cuz i ain't no sellout (YEAH! gin-u-wine! huzzah!), but this one sounds really awesome:
Rosalind Wiseman – the best-selling author of Queen Bees & Wannabes, the basis for the hit movie Mean Girls – will be in town hosting a workshop filled with mother-daughter bonding, but also an interactive discussion about confidence, friendships and how to navigate those sweat-inducing “moments”. She will also be signing copies of her books, which attendees will receive at the event.
Rosalind Wiseman’s Girl World Tour is presented by Dove go fresh
Date: Tuesday, April 6
Time: 7-9 p.m.
Location: Georgetown Day School
Tickets: $40 per mother-daughter pair
Event Details: http://rosalindwiseman.com/events/girl-world-tour/
if madeleine were a tween (and, oh dear god, i can't imagine any more drama than what we currently endure), we would totally go to this. that is, if she liked me on that particular night, and if she hadn't recently told me how i was ruining her life.
most of my peeps have kids close in age to my own, so i'm not sure who's going to win these tickets. (oh! yeah! i have FREE TIX to give away!!!) leave a comment here -- just your name and email address if cool -- but for EXTRA points, tell me what your worst memory of your tween years was. (mine: me, in horrible short dorothy hamill-esque haircut, wearing ugly tan leather-esque jacket, having some neighborhood kid come up to me and asking me, "are you a he or a she?" scarred? me? nooooo.)
get to it, people. (oh. get to it by noon EST friday, march 25, k?)
